If you're still curious as to what Llanidloes is really like, this DVD will bring to life the area around Llanidloes. Filmed during September and October 2006 it captures the last remaining days of summer sunshine and the onset of a beautiful autumnal landscape.
Indeed if any of the locals were left in any doubt as to what was happening in Llanidloes, in September, the 20ft crane and camera, known as the 'jimmy jib' gave the game away – filming had begun for the new DVD featuring Iolo Williams, presenter of BBC2's series 'The Birdman', 'Iolo's Wild Life' and 'Iolo's Welsh Safari'.
Iolo was filmed in the window of the Old Market Hall, visiting an exhibition by Llanidloes Arts Co-operative in Wood N Things Longbridge Gallery and Coffee Shop, discussing the history and architecture of St Idloes Church with Dr David Stephenson and surveying the views at Grandstand B&B in Trefeglwys from where he based his stay in the area.
You can see also see Iolo donning a wetsuit and getting wet at Clywedog as he learns how to sail, delivering his lines across a less than steady rope bridge at Mount Severn Activity Centre as part of the Festival of the Great Outdoors and trying his hand at Clay Pigeon Shooting at Mid Wales Shooting Centre.
The DVD is all about showing you what we have to offer – from exhibitions and activities to heritage and scenery. All of the camera crew who don't already live here have sworn to return - not least for the fancy dress next year! why not join them?
