The Llani InfoNet, established in September 2006, is a central information service concerning issues that impact on our town, so that people know quickly what is going on and can comment and make suggestions that can be easily collated and communicated to other members. It is NOT an advertising service, but a community network of information for the well being of the town.
Its remit covers many issues including:
Community issues: such as housing, local hospital, building developments, green spaces & trees etc
Trade issues: such as road signage, joint marketing, parking, grants available, tourism etc
Social issues: such as events, litter, vandalism, fund raising, fun etc
Other aspects of its role are:
to link in with other organisations where applicable
advice/skills/research sharing
occasional joint ventures between all or part of the group such as: specific events, marketing the town, analysing planning applications etc
good old fashioned community support – and we are fortunate in that in Llani we are already half way there. If we don’t use it, we could lose it!
To subscribe to this group, all you need to do is send an empty message (any subject line and content will be ignored) to:
after which the automated system will contact you with an introductory message (including instructions on how to get more information if needed).
The address for sending a message to all members in the group is: llanidloes@lrc.org.uk
The InfoNet also has a sister project called the ‘Llani Fountain Group’ which meets once per month. For information about the work of this group see the website www.fountain-international.org
