A new book detailing the history of Llanidloes Primary School has been written by Margaret Morgan a former teacher in charge of the nursery and assistant headteacher of the school. The book entitled Llanidloes C. P. School 1953-2003 is an historical and social account synonymous with school life. There are more than 450 photographs including names of the teachers and pupils. The accompanying text frequently giving amusing details has drawn on the memories of those associated with the school across the decades. It is a complete record of the school and features members of most of the families of Llanidloes and District at that time. The book begins with the amalgamation of the two primary schools in the town the National and the Glandwr schools, the building of the new school and the organisation of its staff and pupils. Chapters in the book include the Canteen, Outside Environment, Music and the Performing Arts, Sport, Art and Craft, Christmas Festivities, Educational School Visits, Events and Celebrations, Fund raising, Visitors to the School, Community Links and Memoirs.
The book is full of nostalgic memories; it serves as a focal point to reminisce and for future generations to have an insight into Llanidloes Primary School during the first fifty years.
