The four Wye View cottages are converted from 150 year old Welsh stone and slate farm buildings. Sympathetically retaining the old oak beams of the original structure (and even an original 'arrow slit' window in Severn Cottage) the cottages offer all the modern day amenities you could wish for whilst maintaining the charm of the past. All four cottages are carpeted upstairs with slate floors downstairs, have heating, fully fitted kitchens with hob, oven and fridge, a dining area and lounge with colour TV/Sky TV. Bathrooms have modern suites, power showers, heated towel rail and extractor fans. Our accommodation is four star rated by the Welsh Tourist Board.
The cottages are located on the side of the massive 1,300ft high Foel Gurig hill, over looking the River Wye as it descends from the Cambrian Mountains to the north and west. A more delightfully scenic spot could not be imagined. There are no end of footpaths and trails to explore, beginning right from the cottage doorsteps and climbing up and over the surrounding hills in a series of superb and seemingly never ending views. The cottages are roughly a mile from the village of Llangurig, which has two pubs offering good wholesome food and real ales, a renowned craft shop and a well stocked village Post Office and Store. All in all, whether you are seeking to just stay at the cottage and relax, or get out and explore, on foot, by bike or by car, the Wye View Cottages are a perfect place at which to base your holiday.
